“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” II Corinthians 1:20 (NIV)
One of the greatest aspects of true Christianity is that it is a “YES” theology, one of POSITIVE POWER. God threw out the negative when He drew up His redemptive plan for mankind; and the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus fulfilled His promise of reconciliation.
In Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, whose society worshipped many gods, he said he was not wasting time differentiating between “yes” and “no” doctrines. The Gospel he preached was always “YES” in Christ.
What “gospel” does YOUR life represent? Do you ponder over religious “do’s” and “don’ts”? Do you speak words with negative meanings that bring forth negative responses from those around you?
The only Gospel you are charged by the Lord to proclaim is “the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth. . . For therein is the righteousness of God revealed. . .” (Romans 1:16-17a)
This Gospel is the only Gospel that brings hope to a lost world. It is a positive Gospel of God’s promised redemption. . . it is Good News!
PRAY: “Loyal and true Father, thank You for keeping Your promises in Christ. I am not ashamed of Your Gospel. Help me to spread the Good News today. In Jesus Name, amen.”
