September 5 – But God!

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  Romans 5:8

“But God…”  These two words are packed full of hope. How many times in your life have things gone awry, BUT GOD changed them around…made the difference or intervened on your behalf?

First of all, His love was so great that He asked Jesus to die for you while you were yet in your sins. “BUT GOD, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us.” (Ephesians 2:4)

Then, when temptation comes along: “…BUT GOD is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape…”         (I Corinthians 10:13)

Joseph was sold into Egypt by his brothers and then later was in a position to save them from famine. He remarked: “So now it was not you that sent me hither, BUT GOD.” (Genesis 15:8a) Joseph’s father, Jacob, lay dying, and said, “Behold, I die: BUT GOD shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.” (Genesis 48:21)

Friend, you may have problems…BUT GOD! Keep your faith and hope in Him.

PRAY: “Father God, thank You for coming to my rescue so many times in the past and for intervening on my behalf in circumstances beyond my control. I love you! Amen.”
