March 1 – Flood Out The Enemy

“When the enemy shall come in…like a flood the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”  Isaiah 59:19b

Have you ever experienced flood conditions in the area where you live? The force of the raging flood tide is almost unimaginable.  Reread this familiar Scripture with the above punctuation and consider the all-encompassing love and power of the Holy Spirit at work in your life.

Like a flood…the Holy Spirit will rise to the occasion of need — flushing out every nook and cranny, under doors, through windows, through cracks in the floor —to discover the dirt or dry, dusty areas and to bring the refreshing water of the Word of God to the heart of the problem.

The New International Version quotes the verse this way; “For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along.”  The standard that is lifted is Jesus Christ, who then drives out the adversary. Your authority is in Him.

So the next time the enemy tries to come in and make your life dry, let the flood tide of the Holy Spirit saturate your mind and soul with God’s Word, appropriate your authority, and FLOOD OUT THE ENEMY!

PRAY: “Omnipotent Father, it is just like Your great love toward Your children to provide a standard against the enemy! Thank You for authority in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
