November 2 – A Responsible Citizen

“Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caeser’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:21b

Jesus instructs you to be a responsible citizen in this verse, which means you should give your government whatever responsibilities are called for under that government… from paying your taxes to casting your vote.

All American citizens have the right to vote and express their desires for the future of the nation. Often, national elections stage a clear contest between godliness and decadence, morality and promiscuity.

As citizens of a spiritual kingdom, men and women of God are responsible for the unrighteousness in their nation and have the duty to cast their votes for biblical morality and Christian principles. Study the issues; listen to the candidates; then vote for the man who most clearly stands for righteousness based upon biblical teaching and standards. “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint.” (Proverbs 25:19)

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” (Psalm 33:12) Return your nation’s blessing by being responsible citizen of the kingdom of God.

PRAY: “God of all nations, forgive my nation’s – shortcomings and sins. Look upon her with mercy and favor. Instill Your wisdom in me to cast my vote for Godliness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
