October 18 – Assurance of Salvation

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”  I John 5:13

Your total assurance of salvation…the goal of the Gospel—guiltlessness…comes by trusting and believing God’s Word and NOT your own good works. (See Ephesians 2:8-9.) Review these ABC’s:

A) ACKNOWLEDGE – Do you acknowledge and accept your need for a Saviour? Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
B) BELIEVE – Do you believe in your heart that God sent His Son to die on a cross for the sins of mankind and to be victoriously resurrected?
C) CONFESS – Do you confess Jesus as Lord and Savior as an act of surrender to His path and purpose for your life by obeying His Word?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, then KNOW that you are saved! Do not live with an “I’ll never be good enough” sin complex. Do not get preoccupied with sin! God is preoccupied with forgiveness! Accept God’s gift of salvation…today is the day of SALVATION. (See II Corinthians 6:2.)

PRAY: “Loving Father, I accept Your gift of salvation, paid for by the blood of Your Son, Jesus. Make me whole in my spirit so that I might follow You without reservation. I love You, Jesus! In Your Name, I pray. Amen.”
