January 10 – I Am My Brother’s Keeper

“And he said unto them. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15

Some of the last words of Jesus to His disciples were commands to “GO” into all the world and “PREACH” the Gospel to every creature. These words are mandates from God Himself. Ezekiel 3:17-21 says that you have been made a “watchman” and that if you NEGLECT to warn people of the lost condition of their souls, then the Lord will hold you responsible and accountable for their blood.

Further, Proverbs 19:17 reads: “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.” Can you see the temporal, physical needs of people in your church, neighborhood, or city that should be met by the Lord’s disciples in addition to their spiritual needs?

God is very serious about His plan of redemption for mankind. ARE YOU SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR GOD-GIVEN RESPONSIBILITIES TO YOUR BROTHER?

PRAY: “Father, I am beginning to realize how Your heart must ache for everyone who is outside of Your loving, protective care. Please make me more aware of my responsibilities as Your ambassador to my brothers and sisters today, and help me to meet their needs wherever I am able to do so. In Your Son’s Name, I pray. Amen.”
