June 30 – What Are Your Rights?

“Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.” I Corinthians 7:23

As a Christian, you have been redeemed (saved) from the death penalty. The penalty for sin was death, and your redemption was paid for with the blood of Jesus on the cross. It was a high price to pay. The saving grace of God is FREE, but it is not CHEAP! You have been bought with a high price.

God’s purchase results in your SERVANT-HOOD. However, you should remember your servant hood is unto GOD and not man. As a servant, you have given up your own “rights” and rest solely upon the will of your Master. While others are “fighting for their rights,” you can rest easy in the will of your Father and Master, because you believe He knows best.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. ” (Romans 8:28) You are called to GOD’S PURPOSE and must die to your own purposes. As a child of God, you have given up your rights on “death row.” Bail has been paid by God Himself, and now you are obliged to serve and obey Him. Here is the best part… He MAKES all things work together for GOOD. God is a good God, a loving Father, and a caring Master. You can rest easy in God’s purpose.

PRAY: “Dear Father, I thank You for Your Son’s obedience to the cross which sealed my salvation. I give up my rights for the sake of serving You and ask that Your divine purpose be revealed to me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”

June 29 – Restoring Your Covering

“He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4

A proper covering through God in your life brings about five graces:

1) COMPANIONSHIP – This comes through agreement. Amos 3:3 says, “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” God promises sweet fellowship with Him and others when you come into agreement.

2) COMPLETENESS – God’s covering brings completeness in your life.

Colossians 2:10a, “. . . ye are complete in him. . . . “He will be your husband, your wife, your father, your mother, or friend that sticks “closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24b)

3) FRUITFULNESS – Jesus said, “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much FRUIT. . . . “(John 15:5a) (Emphasis supplied.) God wants you to “Be fruitful and multiply.. . .“ (Genesis 1:28)

4) PROTECTION – God’s protection comes through His love. He has protected you from sin’s power through His love on the cross. In the same way, “Husbands, love [protect] your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”(Ephesians 5:25)

5) FORGIVENESS – Your relationships are covered through forgiveness. “. . . if a man [or woman] be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness . . . “(Galatians 6:la)

PRAY: “Dear Father, I need Your covering today. Guide my steps, my conversations, my thoughts and my actions. Let my life be pleasing in Your sight. Amen”

June 28 – The Canopy of God’s Love

“He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.” Song of Solomon 2:4

Today it is important to get under the canopy of God’s…

1) LORDSHIP – Make Him Lord of your life . . . your Number One priority. The rich young ruler in Matthew 19:22 went away from Jesus in sorrow because “he had great possessions” and could not put God ahead of his earthly possessions.

2) WORSHIP – This is the action that brings you under His canopy of love. The Canaanite woman, in Matthew 15:25, moved the heart of Jesus through her worship, “And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.” (Verse 28) Worship activates God’s love.

3) OBEDIENCE – At the heart of your relationship with Father God is your obedience. It is more important than sacrifice. (See II Samuel 15:22.) WHY? Because God knows that HIS ways are best and, if you will simply obey, you will come under the canopy of His blessing and provision.

4) THANKSGIVING – Giving thanks to God, even ahead of the answer, pleases Him, because it demonstrates your faith. When Jonah began to pray with a “voice of thanksgiving” (Jonah 2:9), God caused the great fish to vomit him out onto dry land.

PRAY: “Gracious Lord, You are my Savior and Master. I worship You with a thankful heart and pledge my obedience to Your Word. Let me abide under Your canopy of love forever.  In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
